New Electrodes AJAX can duplicate any electrode assembly - even those of other manufacturers - or we can design new electrodes for custom applications |
Repaired Electrodes Most used "Over the Top" electrodes can be
repaired at 50 -80% of the cost of new parts. |
Bar Stock For customers who elect to make their own repairs, AJAX
maintains an extensive stock of stainless and nickel alloys in square cornered
bar for electrode replacement. |
Thermocouples
| AJAX furnaces are tagged with a part number for easy thermocouple
replacement. Thermocouples for other furnace manufacturers can also be supplied with proper information about the furnace. It is recommended that two thermocouples per furnace be kept in inventory to eliminate down time. |

Metal Pots Fabricated steel, special alloy, or aluminized steel round pots
are available with inside diameters of 6" to 30" and inside depths
of 10" to 36 ". |
Ceramic Pots Utilizing an interlacing tile design, AJAX ceramic pots
provide life expectancies averaging 3 to 5 years at 1550°F and 2 to
3 years at 2200°F. |
| Resistance heating elements, enclosed
within steel sheaths, should have a service life of up to 5 years in molten
salt. However, solidified salt and sludge buildup can overheat and burnout
these elements and replacements should always be kept in stock. AJAX elements can be manufactured for baths as deep as 60" or as shallow as 12". |
Radiant Gas-Fired Tubes
| The family of AJAX DGT furnaces range in length from
3 feet to over 40 feet, with capacities up to several tons per hour. Immersion tubes for these units are custom designed and replacements are not stocked, but can be specially fabricated for specific units. |
Continuous Filtering Systems
| Filter out undesirable suspensions in the molten bath.
To obtain maximum hardness and maintain effectiveness and uniformity
in the salt bath, a continuous filtering system will eliminate the costly
practice of bailing and replenishment. |
Agitator Mixer Systems
| From low temperature brine and oil quenching, up through drawing
and intermittently in special high temperature carburizing, AJAX
has developed Agitator/Mixer systems to provide more uniform temperatures
at a faster rate while minimizing salt solidification. Vertical or inclined, AJAX can replace existing Agitator/Mixer parts or retrofit existing furnaces with a completely new Agitator/Mixer system. |
Furnace Covers
A well designed, properly insulated furnace cover
reduces heat loss up to 50% during idle or down periods.
AJAX supplies three cover designs:
| Pan Type Covers
For relatively small work areas and temperatures up to 1000°F |
Castable Type Covers
A high,heavy profile with castable cement between the steel shell for temperatures upto 2400°F |
Ceramic Fiber Type Covers
A light weight,medium profile with 1"x 6" strips in multiple vertical layers between a welded shell for temperatures up to 2400°F |
